Animal Chiropractic

Animal chiropractic focuses on the relationship between the structure of the spine and the function of the nervous system and how that relationship affects health. It emphasizes an animal’s own inherent recuperative power of the body to heal itself. An animal chiropractor systematically examines the spine and the extremities looking for areas of altered movement and, using specific adjustments, restores normal alignment and function to these areas.

Chiropractic does not replace traditional veterinary medicine. It is designed to be integrated with concurrent veterinary primary care. It is not a cure-all, and not everyone will have the same results from chiropractic treatment. It may take several adjustments for your pet to stay aligned. Depending on use, some animals benefit from regular chiropractic care (i.e. performance horses, agility dogs). Your pet may benefit from chiropractic care if he or she exhibits some of the following signs:

-Decrease in level of performance

-Problems or difficulty executing desired movements

-Behavioral changes (may be indication of pain)

-Muscle imbalance

-Abnormal posture

-Chronic disease conditions or weak immune system
